From the open control chart, the right mouse menu provides easy access to the first three steps of the chart definition. Choose Options, then the Format tab (shown below at left) to set the number of decimal places displayed for the control limits and statistics. As noted earlier, changes to this tab will be stored in the chart, and will also be used as your default options the next time you create a chart.
The X-Bar chart in the prior slide included the Histogram in the upper left quadrant; summary statistics in the lower left quadrant; the X-Bar chart in the upper right quadrant; and, the Range chart in the lower right quadrant. The Show Stats Pane / Histogram option is used to turn on/off (default on) the histogram and summary statistics to the left of the control chart. The width and height of these quadrants may be adjusted by selecting the border between the quadrants with your cursor and dragging it one direction or the other within the chart window. The statistics displayed are those selected via the Format tab's Stat Settings button (default all).
The Show Worksheet Stats option provides a tabular display of each subgroup statistics within your spreadsheet, which can then be referenced by formulas or other functions within Excel.
The Auto Refresh Chart option will automatically update the chart when any of the cells in the data range are edited.
