Some comments from past students:
Really simplifies the 'How To'.
Very impressed with the detail and ease in which you made the deployment of Six Sigma seem.
Very useful, even for Finance professionals!
I especially appreciated the emphasis on applying the tools, leaving the math for the software.
By completing the online Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification course, students will be able to:
- Recognize key attributes of a successful Six Sigma deployment strategy.
- Appreciate project selection criteria.
- Realize the role of a Green Belt in the Six Sigma organization.
- Understand fundamentals of the DMAIC problem solving methodology.
- Use basic Six Sigma tools for Six Sigma project definition and process baseline.
- Understand the need for advanced problem-solving and improvement methodologies used by Project Teams when supported by Six Sigma Black Belts.
- Actively participate in a Six Sigma team.
LSS Green Belt Training Prerequisites: Students should have a general understanding of business functions, the reading comprehension level of a high school graduate, and general proficiency using internet browsers and Windows-based computer software including MS Office.

LSS Green Belt Certification Topics
Why choose Quality America for your LSS Green Belt training?
- One key advantage offered by our courses is that they are based on perhaps the best-selling book written for Six Sigma, The Six Sigma Handbook, which has sold more than 150,000 copies.
- The courses are written and facilitated by a leading author, who has worked with companies in a wide variety of industries. If you have questions, he’ll be answering the questions. Most online courses aren’t written or facilitated by anyone with that level of subject matter expertise.
- One way to distinguish a qualified Six Sigma course, or certification for that matter, is by reviewing its topics or body of knowledge. If you see a course that offers only basic coverage of SPC (statistical process control) in the Measure stage, or none at all, then you know the course is written by someone who does not understand the basic statistics behind process improvement. As Deming frequently noted, enumerative statistics, such as confidence intervals and hypothesis tests, are “inappropriate (for process analysis) because they provide no basis for prediction and because they bury the information contained in the order of production.” (Out of the Crisis, 1982, 1986). While enumerative statistics are helpful in analyzing the results of designed experiments, for example, they are an inappropriate tool for process analysis used in the Measure stage of a DMAIC project. Courses that teach otherwise are simply not credible.
- We have integrated lean topics throughout our course since its initial offering in 2001. We don’t offer separate courses or certifications for Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma, since the lean principles, tools and methods are an integral part of any successful Six Sigma implementation.
- Our Online Green Belt course includes our certification, signed by a leading author. There are likely other credible certification exams available, and you will do well on them if you complete our course. You should be wary of any Green Belt certification that includes emphasis on enumerative statistics, since it shows an apparent lack of understanding of the use of statistics in process analysis (see above) or the role of a Green Belt. A Green Belt, by definition, retains their operational role in an organization. Their contribution to the Six Sigma implementation is to lend their process expertise to a Six Sigma project team. While it is useful for Green Belts to learn SPC, since it is used (or should be used) as a primary means of operational process control, they would rarely have cause to use enumerative statistics in their operational role at the process. Likewise, while it is useful for Green Belts to have a basic understand of designed experiments, particularly the planning and data collection activities that would be their primary focus, the statistical analysis of the experimental results would be led by a Black Belt. (Note, if you feel compelled to learn the tools of Statistical Inference, we offer that as a stand-alone short course).
