In 1997, Nye Lubricants began searching for a fully integrated, non-Lotus Notes based software package as part of a continuous improvement to our ISO 9000 program and to support our intentions to upgrade their certification to QS-9000. Having reviewed nearly a dozen software packages we found Q-Pulse to be the only fully integrated package (all others were software suites with modules that did not communicate to one another).
Our rollout of the Q-Pulse program took approximately 6 months. The installation of the program from IS point of view was easily accomplished. Module implementation was quick and straightforward. Nye contracted "on-site training" for their employees, provided by Quality America. This training helped jump-start the implementation of the program, as all of the stakeholders and users were present.
Q-Pulse is used company-wide for:
· Review and retrieval of electronic documentation
· Corrective and Preventive Action response
· Internal Audit planning and reporting
· Review of customer complaints and returns
· Review of supplier issues
· Review and reporting of training needs
Nye consistently uses the Performance and Cost Review module to conduct on-line management reviews.

Finally, both 2nd and 3rd party assessors have commented that this software package ranks as the best they have seen in terms of ease of use and information generated through its reporting capabilities. Q-Pulse has made our lives easier in assisting us not only with the management of our processes, but in truly assisting us with business development opportunities.
